Okay, I just tested the system by adding 4 images -- 2 to entries where I had already posted and 2 to entries where I had never contributed images before. I received no system messages.
I'm not sure about the acorns because I didn't think to look at the number before I added the two for which I should have received acorns. I guess I'll have to do another test.
