Might not be a good idea to use Alfalfa!! This is and has been grown as a GMO for some time now...to my surprise. It was approved as a roundup ready crop and people like us use it as a fertilizer but others feed their animals with it. The ingredient in roundup has harmful effects on plant and animal life, including diseases, It alters cells and DNA. This stuff is on and in the alfalfa!!
