I have seen benefits from the alfalfa in our garden. Whether it's from the alfalfa directly or the worm castings left behind from the worms eating the alfalfa the plants increase better and have a lot better scapes on plants that previously without the alfalfa (or worms) did not have great branching on them.

I can't say I have seen any harm to the plants but the brand I use only just started selling the GMO alfalfa as of Dec 1, 2013 and I haven't used any after November of 2013.
