Since we're making it up now, we're like Humpty-Dumpty.
We can make the words mean anything we want.

pretzel (English)
slap upside the head (Yiddish)
Tsetse Fly (sometimes spelled tzetze)
Los Zetas (a powerful and violent criminal syndicate in Mexico)

I wish I could find a word in some language that meant "fruit thrown at bad performers". It would be a good name for a prolific, soft and thin-skinned heirloom tomato with big fruits and not-very-good taste.
