It may be a little bigger but not nearly as big as any of my LA irises. Here are some more views.

I am holding a quarter behind the petal for size reference.

Here is a photo of the one I assume is going to be purple beside the quarter for size reference. the buds are purple while the emerging bloom looks black.

I know you cant ID a plant from a picture but if you have a good idea what type iris it is that would be a great help.
