Susan - I have to agree with you wholeheartedly. I work at a public school and I see so many children with ADHD, ADD, varying degrees of autism, early puberty, over-weight, and other issues that I never, ever saw when I was growing up and going to school back in the 60's and 70's. I believe many of the causes to be coming from the food we are eating. And much research is proving that to be true.

Something else, much of our produce food now comes from other countries where the pesticides are not controlled or restricted. I try not to buy as much produce as I used to. And I do try to grow some of my own, but that can be tricky here in central Florida. Meat and fish also are being produced in foreign countries and sold here in our supermarkets. I try to read the labels to figure out where the food is coming from before purchasing it. But much of what is being produced in the USA isn't a whole lot safer. GMOs are big business for the major food companies.

Dave and Trish have the right idea in having a farm and producing as much of their own food as possible for their family. They know their food is organic and safe. I know more and more people are growing their own produce compared to even 5 years ago. I can't help but wonder what the future holds for the food industry....
What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters, compared to what lies within us.
