Some states are trying to enact laws that would make labeling GMO products mandatory. Some products are labeled as GMO free by the manufacturer, which I love to see on a product. But then so many products aren't labeled either way. I would LOVE to see companies be mandated to label GMO smack on the front so everyone can see it. I think they are fighting this because they know that many people will then have a choice and will not choose to buy it. I think there should be more information disclosed on labels because, like you Susan, I think everyone has the right to know what their food IS! I get so disappointed (maybe alarmed?) when I read so many food labels and see they are not US products. I'm like seriously? We can't grow this? I don't think we should be importing ANY foods unless it is something we can't grow here. I am also badly wanted corn labeled in the allergy section on the nutrition label. I am allergic to corn and it is a major allergen for thousands of people, but they refuse to label it. I have to guess if it's in something. Sometimes I find out by eating it after I thought it was 'safe'. Sad
