Carl,
Your error serves as a nice compliment to me.
@Sharon writes about similar things and situations as I do concerning country life and ancestry. We both seem to share a love of the hills and simpler times in life. I can never get enough of Aunt Bett in her articles, nor the wonderful experiences she relates as a child. My ancestors too were of southern heritage and it has marked me forever because of its simplicity and love of all things plants (ATP). So in that respect we share a kindred spirit with most everyone at ATP.
The cast iron skillet belonged to my mother, and I know it is more than 75 years of age because it was likely a gift from her parents when she married my father. She (my mother) also passed along a 10" cast iron skillet to my wife (shown below) when we were married, and that one is about the same age. None of these 'high-tech', coated tin pans here.
So thanks for your error and interest which speaks volumes. By the way here is another favorite country stir in an #8 cast iron skillet. (That's real corn bread in the 2nd picture.)
Regards,
Leon
