I'm going to see what the other blooms on the stalk do. I doubt that they will all be wonky. This did bloom last year, so it's not it's maiden bloom, but the first time it re-bloomed.
What got me wondering, was the description as having a "sunshine yellow" shoulders, the height, and the beard as being golden brown.
This whacky flower has faded today, so I'll post a picture of the next one down the line.
The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that it has never tried to contact us.
