Mine does have more yellow on the shoulders (not sure how sunshiney it is), but my beards have always been more gold than golden brown. I would definitely not judge by the wonky bloom though.
Just as an FYI: I had an iris that produced a perfectly fine bloom, then a wonky one, but then the rest of the blooms were again normal. I think the wonky one had gotten a bit of frost damage.
