LOL! Rolling on the floor laughing You are right; I guess that I should have specified what "tall" should be... and what "large" should be... and what "gold" means...

Thank You! for your suggestions!

I have 'Sears Tower' which is sort of a golden yellow polychrome (colorwise it looks similar to the image of 'In the Clouds'); while it is tall (registered at 72" but it is in a pot here and so not that high) and I like it, I think I don't want many daylilies that are that tall. Rolling on the floor laughing

So to be more specific...

Height-wise somewhere on the order of 36"-42"? 'Mary's Gold' is registered at 34", and that clump is almost an ideal height here.

Bloom size, anything 6" or bigger. UFs are fine so long as they are well behaved (not looking wild and wacky and different every day).

For color, I would like to match 'Mary's Gold' - which is a "golden orange" (not orange, not yellow, not golden yellow). Absolutely brilliant in color.

The only other daylily I have that comes close to it in color is the old gold self Munson 'Burmese Buddha' (which does not seem to like its shady location, and which also has a plainer flower and low budcount). But that is gold, not golden orange.

Dormants are fine here - in fact, I am beginning to prefer the dormants to the other kinds. The foliage looks so good in the spring!

I tried a search on the database, but my skills are obviously lacking. The best that I could come up with was Morss' 'Midday Sun', which is described as a "yellow gold"... hmmm.

(I did order 'Twenty Carrot' (which is described as a "gold self") last fall, but somehow the plant got lost... Glare I guess I am going to have to order it again... )
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom
