Reading through the thread is a fine pastime for a rainy day, but it does not always indicate what the original poster accepted as the 'correct' identification.
As far as the original poster not remembering to mark their thread as solved/identified, perhaps there could be a 'friendly reminder' notice after 30 days (or whatever time frame) sent to their T-mail box.
