Most odd, I now have another seedling sowed on 11/17/2013 also showing a scape and buds. What's odd is that out of the entire raised bed of Fall/Winter sowed seedlings (which is over 100 seedlings), this one is right next to the other seedling that I posted about in the June Seedling thread. Perhaps I fertilized better in that area than the rest of the raised bed?
This seedling showing a scape is another of Sandi's seeds. It is "Infinite Blue x Unknown":
I am amazed that seeds sowed as late as November are going to bloom for me this year! I didn't even know that was possible. And I do remember that it took about 2 weeks after I sowed them to show germination. So that would put it near the end of November. We're talking about 7 months from seed to scape/buds! I'm pretty excited to see blooms so soon!
Here is a photo of a second year seedling blooming for the 1st time. (Unknown parentage.) This first bloom is a polymerous:
Another photo of 2 blooms (with another behind them), opened today on this unknown parentage seedling:
All these unknown seedlings happened as a result of some wildlife that made a mess of my seedling bed last year. Raccoons, armadillo, and possum must have been digging for grubs or something and all the markers were destroyed, moved, or missing. So these are all unknowns that have blooms currently.
