No I haven't tried it in a sunnier location Evan. My garden is entirely enclosed (a small town garden) and the more sunny spots are all occupied. I only have full sun on my balcony!
The huge tuber, I bought in a Thai grocery shop in town last year. I still have the plant, though it is smaller as the tuber had suffered in its winter storage, I was away in Brazil to take properly care of my overwintering plants
