Henhouse, I had to look back at the pictures to see the trillium. I had no idea he had any :P (I didn't know what trillium was until recently!) I think Salt Spring Island receives more rain than we do in Victoria, but their summers are as dry. Do you have very wet winters? He grows a few Japanese Irises as well and I recently learned what water-lovers they are. A couple of hybridizers grow them directly in water.
Much of my soil has extreme drainage so I was scared to even consider them for my garden.
