So right, Lori. Lilacs need to be pruned after they bloom. If you prune them before, you will get no flowers. That could be the answer, all right!

Btw, in most of the country, the lilacs bloom in May, or June at the latest. It's most likely too late to expect them to bloom this year, unless you got a variety that re-blooms. They are a fairly recent introduction.
