Thanks passiflora, I have pineapple guava in full sun -- they had them as hedges. This is full shade but has light but I think it's too shady as it receives no direct sunlight at all; not even dappled.
It's just too dry up there for the Fl. anise. Sad

Oh, btw, I ate the flowers. I couldn't get cotton candy taste out of them. Maybe it's just my taste buds. They didn't have hardly any flavor at all but you could taste a hint of sweetness.
