Evan, may I rescind this request? The more I look into gingers, the more I see your dilemma. There are soooo many plants out there bearing the title "ginger" (and many of these are not only decorative but are also considered to be of culinary or medicinal use) that I am afraid I have asked the impossible of you. I was, however, recently introduced to "globbas" (yet another one of Zingiber family) - that are stunning to say the least! (OK, Semi OT but it is what made me think of this thread
