The stems are square. I checked the Clinopodium that occur in our state & none really seemed to match up. Everything I read stated the aroma was strong & the aroma of what I have is not strong. It does smell minty-ish but certainly not an odor you pick up when you walk past the plants which is what everything I found seemed to remark on as to Calamint.

It's possible it could be Clinopodium carolinianum but I can't see the leaves well enough in any photos I could find. @stone stone, you have this plant --- does mine look & sound anything like yours?
