Streaked hostas are fascinating and unreliable. The streaks are always changing and one summer they stabilize and they are no longer streaked, but rather, variegated. You have to constantly remove any growth that is not streaked.

Streaked hostas are so because their chromosomes are unstable. The top of the leaf has one set and the bottom has another set. This causes the variegation. While they are in flux, there are streaks.

Yes, I do have a few streaked: this summer.

Galaxy is streaked but I have more of the all green Galaxy.

Royal Mouse Ears is streaked. Price is $30 per crown, $50 retail.

Dream Maker is streaked and it becomes more so with age.

My own development, Jenn Ann, is streaked. There are three forms at this time.

I have a hosta that develops into many different variegations and streaks. This hosta grows better in a pot.

If you are willing to send me an annual report with stats and picture, I will send you a two crown plant for free.

Let me know,

Gerry
