I used to enjoy floral design but I don't do much anymore. I do the wreaths and cemetery cones for the Christmas store but I use silk flowers(good ones). I sold dried flowers and fruits for a few years at my farm and it was fun. I never dried anything myself except easy stuff, but people really bought it for awhile. Then Michaels and A C Moore moved into the area shopping centers and people could buy wreathes cheaper than they could make them , so my business eventually closed. The little guy can not compete with the prices of the bigger stores as you know. When I retired from my day job as Municipal Clerk in one of the towns here in NJ I took a floral design class thinking maybe I would work part time in a flower shop. Never happened. I am not talented when it comes to drawing or artwork of any kind...I can not even draw a stick man properly.....but I do love to play around with flowers and weeds, etc. I can find beauty in the ugliest weeds sometimes. If it grows, I love it...except poison ivy. Rolling on the floor laughing
