I looked and didn't find a forum dedicated to composting. May we have one here? I find composting fundamental and every time I start a new garden, I set up the compost first thing.

I was sharing a little about my compost in another thread, and realized I have a lot to share about various ways to compost, and how easy it is to get a good compost going if you know some basics.

At the same time, there are always variables and issues arise that even experienced composters need to investigate with others, so having a place to share about how we go with our composting would be very valuable to me.

Beginning composters can be put off by what seems like a complicated, smelly project, which can be made much easier with a little knowledge, and, as any experienced composter will tell you, if it's smelly, something is wrong. One great thing is, nearly everything that goes wrong with a compost pile can be fixed.

This is an old picture from a previous garden, of a compost that did quite well for me there.
