@old gardener,
Oh I DO feel your pain. I was processing jalepeno peppers a couple years ago (with gloves! ) and an hour afterward noticed my hands burning and my face around my eyes swelling. I lost vision in my right eye. I was fighting off panic. I had never had a similar reaction before. I quickly searched my memory and came up with the milk solution. I always have raw whole milk in the refrigerator and it was the closest thing on hand. In desperation I soaked my hands (burning terribly) in a bowl of the raw milk. After a couple minutes I took some in my palm and put it on my eyes as best as possible. Fortunately for me, after about 15 to 20 minutes things started to calm down. I got my vision restored in the right eye and the burning subsided. That was so frightening. I am so glad you wrote an article regarding remedies because if I hadn't previously read about it I would have never known what to do. It sure did save a panicked trip to the emergency room. Thank You!
