I wrote a fairly long answer and I put it on preview and it disappeared! Anyway, I just wanted to add that I learned to get rid of the burning of hot pepper when you ate it by drinking hot water as hot as you can. It made the burn worse for a few minutes and then it disappeared. Same with your hands, soak in water as hot as you can stand. And the burning feeling will disappear. Maybe milk will help too, but I never tried.
