Several years ago I worked hard to identify this. What I learned then was Tragopogon sinuatus - or at least that's what I ended up tagging the photos which might not be the same thing. That is all I knew and it wasn't in the database. The flowers are most definitely not pink at any stage as they grow around here. I had proposed it as T. sinuatus because that was not in the database and it was approved, but as a synonym of T. porrifolius ssp porrifolius. I think you are obviously correct about it being T. dubius. I'll ask Zuzu to move the photos.
