There is, of course, a story behind the naming of this area of the cemetery. When this was an active cemetery and they were trying to sell plots in this area they needed to attract people to purchase plots here so...... the Hamilton family agreed to re-re-inter this son of an important personage if this area was named Hamilton Square! The garden is the burial site of William Stephen Hamilton, the youngest son of Alexander Hamilton, the first Treasurer of the United States. He is the cemetery’s most restless resident. He died once (1850), exhumed twice (1877, 1889) and buried three times in three different locations.

This is Mexican Bush Sage (Salvia leucantha 'Santa Barbara') with (Salvia 'Waverly') down the row. They bloom and grow taller from may until frost. Waverley is now blocking the walkway but that's OK.
