Back here after a morning of pulling weeds by hand. It's been a week since it rained and the ground is
perfect for both planting and weeding - although I've stopped planting irises. These cold mornings are telling
me that winter is coming.
I have a nifty long-handled Japanese tool with a small triangular head that is good for some weeds, but the stubborn ones
are best removed by my hands. Of course, my hands and fingernails suffer a bit, but it's so satisfying to clear
the area!
I never, and I mean NEVER, use herbicides on our land. It seems like a sin to me.
