Yes, it was. It grew in great soil and had a lot of protection from the wind. Nearly anytime it bloomed they reached about 8" top to bottom. Very consistent. I was always jealous of the natural growing conditions it grew in, which I don't have. The couple that grew it often cut some, but their idea of cutting a bloom was to have the stem just barely long enough to sit in a glass! Those huge blooms looked almost grotesque with the stems cut off like that. Smiling I used to give them iris that wouldn't grow well for me and for them they would grow beautifully. Location, location, location.
