Many thanks for the welcome and comments, Mike and Teresa. I tip my hat to you.

Glad you asked, Teresa. Our gardens are technically in zone 5a, but we're close to the 4b border. Interestingly, for most of the past five winters or so, we've had zone 6 winters. So far this winter our lowest temperature has been -15 degrees.

I grow daylilies in all three groups: dormant, semi evergreen, and evergreen. The evergreens may surprise you. I've just finished some extended research on this category and will have the details posted on my website when it goes live, hopefully in a few weeks. Would you believe I've identified over 2,200 evergreen daylilies that are listed as hardy in zone 5? I'm trialing a bunch now and will do more in succeeding years. How many more depends on what's out there that I can use in my hybridizing program.

Here are the ones that have survived a winter or two:
Answering Angels
Calico Jack
Collard Dream
Destined To See
Dragon King
Emmaus (Both Parents Are Dormant)
Feathered Prism
Get Jiggy (Sometimes Listed As Dormant)
Indian Sky
Jane Trimmer
Jumble Edge
Monkey Face
Pagan Ritual
Persian Market
Sir Francis Drake
Star Of India
Storm Of The Century
Way Over Yonder
Wild Horses

I will be trialing these in 2015:
Cosmic Kaleidoscope
Better By Design
Buddy’s Betsy
Buddy’s Shaun
Garnet Prism
No No Nanette
Raspberry Prism
Starburst Fantasy
Trim Work
