No, it is in soil, but I keep the container in standing water..have not tried moving it to gel beads nor hydroballs, don't want to disturb this happy plant Big Grin To be honest, I did not attempt to repot it since I got it in 2013. It easily goes temperamental, blasting the peduncles if it is unhappy.. But no issues as long as plain standing water below the container. Sometimes there are just some plants not best for gel beads or clay rocks..but I have the clay rocks just as decorative topper on this one though. And you know how dry our area is, so I guess it compensates for the low humidity levels we have during the warmer months.

I have seen this plant in the wild in the Philippines, at a location where it is higher elevation, cooler, always in a cool humid environment. I am thinking that is why it is happy this way. Blooms during cooler temps and likes that damp-wet root zone.
