I definitely think it makes a difference. There are some that just struggle here and those are the ones that are hybridized in places where they have great soil, nutrients and rainfall. Those are sissy irises. The ones hybridized in the south can stand stony, clayey soil and drought in the severe sun of summer.... those are the tough stubborn ones bred to live a life of struggle and survive with beauty.
Thro' all the tumult and the strife I hear the music ringing; It finds an echo in my soul— How can I keep from singing?
