When we lived in Sacramento we had some growing in a pot and they died off. I didn't replant the pot with anything and after several months the chives began to grow again. I think they just went dormant for a while. We have tried to grow chives here but have only had mediocre success. So now we snip a few of the smaller green onion tops to use on baked potatoes.
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting ‘...Holy Crap ...What a ride!'
