Here in the UK there is a lot to admire in winter. You can stand back and really appreciate the structure of the garden. And the sombre winter colour schemes are wonderful. I remember reading Rosemary Verey's excellent book The Garden In Winter many years ago.
It was rather different when I lived in Maine, but again, you have to appreciate the season as one of rest and preparation even when there's not a scrap of green to be seen. I understand New England has been hard hit this winter with several feet of snow within a short time. I have snowdrops here..
