Ubo really wore them so he had traction and his nails didn't scratch the boat. They did help on the hot pavement though too and he never minded putting them on. He also wore a red life vest when we were 'running'. The funniest thing I ever saw though was once when we brought him into the marina to go potty (as we did regularly) and lifted him onto the pier in full dress, only to be met by a busload of Chinese tourists replete with chatter and flashing cameras!
I wish I could have understood the language at that moment!
