Great day! As some of you know I lost the love of my life, Bert, the Standard Poodle to bloat on April 20, 2010. I wanted another standard but wanted to wait to retire to get one. I CANNOT believe I'm old enough to retire... well, almost. Whistling

I had a surreal experience with Arizona Poodle Rescue about 3-4 months ago (story too too long to tell). I kept in touch with them about finding a Standard to adopt. APR is a great rescue organization of really fine, dedicated people ... a large network with works with out of state poodle rescues, too.

Carla called me about Lexie on Monday 5/23. I met her on Wednesday and now she's with me.

Lexie is 4 years old, Black, Female. As a puppy she was with an elderly couple. The woman passed away when Lexie was 3 yrs. The man has just gone into hospice at 78 yrs old. They surrendered to APR and .... lucky me. We're getting to know each other. I love her and I think she's settling in. Ate all of her dinner tonight! Working (successfully) on the doggy door.

She allowed me to take a couple of pics this evening. I told her you all would want to know her.

Oh, thanks for pointing us here Susie. As you said, Lexie is beautiful and yes, Inky is sad she is neutered. They look like they would make a good couple, she is smaller though...I can't believe you said she only weighs 45#. She looks pretty hardy!

Hi Jaz!...are you all poodle? You're pretty cute.

The poodle attentive energy is heartening isn't it? You can just see it in their eyes!

LOL! Inky, monsieur, you are so, shall we say, je ne said quoi!? You are irresistible, mon cher! I will dream of you ce soir and perhaps find an "eastbound train". Bonne nuit, mon cher.
Su Lexie, avec amor.

High school French... obviously.
Merci

Kelly, Barb and Jamie... she seems to be settling in. Apparently she's an Alpha. Have to be careful when I introduce her to my friend's pack of six females in Cave Creek. Very careful! She may just do better hanging with Jaz.

Good Morning everyone.
Thanks for asking about me, Inky. Lovey dubby
I had a good night. Slept from about 11p.m. through 7:30 a.m. Slept through the night on Susie's bed. Jumped up, went for a long drink of water. Susie let me out (still working on doggy door). Did my bizs. THEN we went for a walk around the 'hood. I didn't meet anyone but got to "read the newspapers" (scents and smells along the walk). Came home for breakfast and ate it all! Morning napping at the moment.

Ha! Mom and I did the same thing!!!! Then we went and pulled some weeds. I'm glad you had such a good sleep. Sometimes I go on my back and snore. Do you do that? I bet you will when you get more used to your new place! Love INX. Lovey dubby

Well, a pretty girl such as I Whistling would never admit to snoring. But, I did awaken a couple of times with just a tiny snore sound.

Still napping. I think Susie is thinking of taking me in the car. She bought me a new bed for $189 .... I said "WTF!? Are you out of your mind? I need bones, not a bed. I have YOUR bed, dummy!" Blinking

We'll see. She may just leave me in the cool house and make the trip back to the store w/out me. Angel She'll come around. After a year of Bert being gone she needs a little retraining.
