Leslie, that's how I did with JIs too, just planted them and waited. Just as you experienced, it took a couple of years to settle in, but then, they just took care of themselves. Now that I've come to love them I have a "recipe" for getting them going - work in some manure and moisture retention crystals upon planting, and they take off! I'm doing that with Sibs too, and they respond nicely.
