I saw this idea on the BBC. They planted the glads in one of those plastic baskets that you use to plant water lilies in and then sink into the pond? I don't have one of those, but I do have a small plastic basket that sort of looks like a miniature laundry basket (maybe 18 x 12 by about 10 inches deep). I'm going to drill some holes into the bottom (its got a solid bottom) and use that. They said to sink the basket into the ground deep enough so you don't see it, then mulch. I hope this works...what they did was really pack the glads in ...and the effect was spectacular.
