Okay, this is good. I'm glad there's a desire for it.

Basically, eventually the Plant List will become a personal plant database, with most of the features of the full database, especially databoxes that you can control on your own. You'll basically be the moderator of your own database that lives separate from the main database.

Plants that have a match in the database will continue to act as usual.
