One of the kindest, sweetest dogs I ever had was a Golden. She barked about 5 times in her life and it scared her each time. The first time she went swimming at about 8 months... my ex threw her into the lake from a boat, and she started sinking.... couldn't figure out the back feet at first.. He had to haul her out of the water, which wasn't easy. He was an idiot... the dog was lovely, and eventually figured out the back feet part of swimming.
