Found this information on short bloom stalks:
" When bulbs do not receive sufficient weeks of cold treatment, they bloom too close to the ground, on too-short stems." http://www.americanmeadows.com...
I guess in my case with outdoor plants this particular one likes more cold, and with inside plants I would guess they were not prechilled enough or the inside temp. might be too warm?
