The one in FL belonged to my grandmother. The ones I have in the sunroom are its babies. The first couple of times they bloomed, I missed them. They start to open late in the afternoon and if you don't check them every day, you wake up the next morning, and they have bloomed without you seeing them! I don't know if that is what is making them bloom, but I cut up banana peels and just lay them in the pot. They turn black in a couple of days so you can't really see them and they just blend in with the soil.
