New first bloom on another sibling seedling. This one is a sibling to "Laughing Clown x Zanti Misfit". It is planted right next to it's sibling (which I showed in an earlier post). It is small. Probably planted to too close to it's sibling and others around it. I have seedlings crammed into raised beds when they are smaller plants, but a number of them grow quite robust and out-perform the others in the same bed, becoming much larger than the other seedlings around them. (Which is probably a very good characteristic for a daylily!)

I really like this one because of the color and the distinct pattern. The bloom is above the fan, but being so small compared to it's sibling means that I probably need to move it to give it more root space. I think this one would do much better being moved this year and will show a more robust performance next year. (Or possibly if it reblooms this year?)

The first scape stats and first bloom stats: 12" scape, 6" bloom, 5 buds. This bloom really caught my eye at first notice!

Side view showing other buds and also a proliferation.

Prolifs on the sides of the scapes are something that I am noticing on all the UFO and spider seedling's very first scapes. Most also have lots of buds and seem to be quite fertile. When I hand-pollinate with another dip or itself, they seem to produce seed pods readily.

Dips produce more seeds than tets, right?

I don't know if you can see the comparison of size between this plant (#2) and it's sibling (#1) right next to it:

This is a second bloom of #1 sibling today. I love the color of this one! I like how the back of the tips of the curls have the matching yellow color of it's throat.:

Additional blooms of other seedlings:

Seedling #1 of "Through the Looking Glass x unknown". So far, the blooms have been very consistent. I think this is one of the last blooms on that seedling first scape.

Two more blooms on Laughing Clown x Instant Graffiti seedling #1. Seedling #2 right next to it looks like it will have it's first bloom tomorrow. It will be interesting to see what the flower looks like on that one.

The ridiculous thing about this plant is that it has a prolif on it's scape that also has a single bud on it! I don't know how common that is to have a prolif bloom on a first scape? This plant actually has TWO prolifs on it's scape.

What a crazy plant this one is! Rolling my eyes. Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious! Thumbs up
