I buy seeds of any type flower i find pretty, and sow half of them outside in the fall. So, now they are starting to bloom.
and i sow the second half of the seeds in the spring to extend the blooming season and fill in the gaps.
most of them never germinate, but poppies, larkspur, and toadflax are booming so far.
