Humm, that seems late to me. I should think people would want to get out earlier and prep their garden beds for planting.

We do, and expressed such to the town last year, and again this year. The people that run the garden, are town officials, and self admittedly are not gardeners. The Master gardener won't make waves. This garden was taken over by town officials last year, the original Garden officers were pushed out. The town's goal is to make garden part of a renewal effort which includes a new transit station. Everything, including the funding, is very political. Once it opens for the season,, it is a good place to be and town provides all needs. Last year, when I had my unexpected surgery, they stepped up and saw that my box was cared for. My home care nurses, Occ. therapists, Phys. therapists, all took turns going down to the garden during their visits, picking produce for me, which was plentiful, and gladly shared.
