That's what I heard too or I would have just dumped them. I planted poppies in six paks but almost none germinated. And I had put them out in the cold. In late April (Easter) while we were hiding plastic eggs up and down the cul de sac for the kids to find (a neighborhood fun time) we scattered poppy seeds around my friends mail box and I saw them coming up yesterday. I guess I will just scatter the dirt from my six paks in the garden and hope some germinate next spring.

I am a little concerned about the iris as I planted them in fairly shallow salad containers (like from the grocery store). Not sure how they will fair in there until they are 9-10 inches tall. But a good idea about super saturating them to make separating the roots easier.
