That is gorgeous Karen! I love the limes and yellows against all the reds and burgundies! Did you catch a lot of people slowing down to look? There are not a lot of gardens around here since it's mostly farmland and a lot of houses sit way back off the road. I love to watch people slow down and gawk. I often wonder if they are impressed or thinking it's such a waste since they can't eat it. hahaha The funniest was a large pool of Harley riding bikers. I thought they were going to wreck checking out the daylilies. THAT is a compliment. LOL

Neal, I told Melissa that I almost went crosseyed sticking the Defiance. Those were the shortest cuttings ever! They must have been regrowth in the crotches! So long as the stems make contact with your medium and it stays moist, you should have no problem. Mine were pushed in until the leaves were nearly on the seed mix and in some cases I had to let them touch the mix. It looks like they are all popping up above the trays now. I usually have them ready to sell in 3-4 weeks. I root in those tobacco float trays and the rootballs are usually quite dense! If I can ship them in that amount of time, you should be able to pot them in half the time? Mine are rooting at 70-75°.

Oh, Bonnie sent me a bunch of red castor beans and I'm planning to use those out in the pond garden again. I'm getting rid of all the daylily row beds and just going down to 2-3 seedling beds. I have three large islands out by the road then the huge one around the pond. I want to redo that one but need mucho dirt money and a way to keep it in. The water comes, the dirt goes. It's flat here! Where does it go??
