I guess with age I cannot take the heat as much. We try and work in the garden early and go home by lunchtime. I haven't gotten anything done at my house except watering and I have a HUGE seedling ghetto under the tree in the back yard. Too hot to plant anything now.

The grass is so far ahead of us at the farm we're going to be spending all week mowing and weeding. I have at least six rows that can be tilled under. That will help. I am slowly getting the comfrey row, strawberries, squash, peanuts and sweet potatoes weeded. We have more sweet potato slips coming any time now. My son orders the "leftover pack" so he gets it cheaper. Problem is, it comes so late. We'll have time to grow them but I'd like to have them planted by now. I had saved some slips from last year so I do have a few in already. I don't think I'll ever get my flower rows weeded.

We are starting to get tomatoes and today we had our first sweet corn. Yummy! Peppers are slowly coming too. We don't grow any blocky greens, mostly things like Nardello, Gypsy and Marconi.
