My love of gardening came from both parents. My dad always had a huge vegetable garden and my mom was a flower gardener and member of a garden club. She always had huge white irises and then a rainbow of other colors in spots all over the yard no matter where we lived. I have a few cultivars from her yard and miss sharing flowers and gardening tips with her since she has been gone for 20 years, way to soon. None of my siblings got the gardening bug but now that I am retired, I can spend more time amid the flowers.
