I use cactus soil with some compost, kanuma, akadama, pumice, some clay rocks and pebbles. I used the same mix with my Adeniums. Oh correction, same mix as with my Adeniums but without the pebbles.

When our forecasts says upper 90's to triple digits, I always water these plumies everyday, except if it is not leafing well yet. It was good timing though this year that both plumies have formed their leaves so I really made them drink a lot during our heat wave.
