When I grew this in 2012 and 2013 (new plants each year), I noticed honey bees, bumble bees and hummers at the flowers. Yes, it is a large plant and takes up space, so I decided to stick with a smaller Rose Leaf Sage (Salvia involucrata 'Mulberry Jam'), which I and the hummers love. It has a deeper rose pink color. Hybrid Rose Leaf Sage (Salvia 'Mulberry Jam')

I'm pretty sure Mulberry Jam blooms earlier, which is important in shorter growing seasons.

But Hidalgo is still a great and beautiful salvia.
Welcome to the Agastache and Salvias Forum!

Hummingbirds are beautiful flying jewels in the garden!
